History of the Security Industries Association of R.O.C. in Taiwan (“SIA”)
After the first security company was established in 1978, the general public has gradually come to accept the “security” concept, and thus many similar companies have been established ever since. In order to meet the needs of developing business for the security industry, and help official authorities to establish security industry management standards and rules and regulation security companies from various counties or cities in Taiwan began to form associations or related unions. Until 2006, the security industry only had six business associations in Taipei, Taipei County, Taoyuan, Taichung, Kaohsiung and Kaohsiung County. Taipei County has since been upgraded to a municipality, “New Taipei City in 2010. In 2008, Taiwan Province Security Association was also established, which includes eight members; Keelung City, Taoyuan County, Hsinchu City, Taichung City, Taichung County, Tainan City and Kaohsiung County.
